This table summarizes the average engagement of news mentioning the name of 30 countries on r/politics, linked to the average GDP per capita and Population across the respective years for each country.
This is an interdisciplinary project tying together concepts of media studies, economics, and digital research methods.
Summary:
This project is about uncovering how “popular” each country is on the political internet forum of r/politics, while establishing how a country’s wealth and population contribute to its popularity. To do so, we employ:
